I have always been a thalassophile, someone with an unexplainable attraction to the ocean. But when I took up surfing late in life, that attraction became an obsession. Spending hours watching waves and analyzing their behavior brought a new appreciation for the momentary fleeting beauty of this wonder of nature. And when the waves are out of my comfort zone I grab my camera instead of my board and try to capture these moments.
